Synopsis:

Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction... my every desire... mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession...

If I wasn't already emotionally fucked up myself, Sylvia Day would have made sure I didn't walk away from her book unscathed. Reflected in You is the scorching sequel to the dark and sensual Bared to You, where the brooding and enigmatic Gideon Cross and his emotionally tormented Eva Tramell return in hopes that their past don't tear them apart.

Oh God, how do I begin? Bared to You left me with so many emotions I didn't think it'd be possible to shed anymore tears as far as the angst went. But once again, I am proven wrong because by the end of this book, I was balling like a baby who'd just lost her favorite teddy. The writing captivates you, it draws you into the Crossfire world, ties you up and makes you like it! Or it could be that you're drawn to the neurotic-controlling-psychotic-stalking-six-foot-two-inches-with-the-intense-blue-eyes of SEX that is Gideon Cross! Masochistic? Yes, I might be.. he's my guilty pleasure, what can I say.

I was hoping Reflected in You would dive deeper into the mind of Gideon Cross, but this book is more about Eva and Gideon fighting to keep their relationship. But with all the insecurities, trust issues, and secrets, it's no wonder neither of them walked away when they should have. This relationship is one that does more damage then good... but when it does good... it's breathtaking! The sexual chemistry between Gideon and Eva is inevitable, it's raw and unrelenting! HOT! It might just be me, but damn that Limo scene after the concert incident! Who cares if he was being a deliberate asshole, I LOVED IT!

Eva Tramell, though in Bared to You I was able to tolerate her, in Reflected in You, she damn near drove me crazy. Her insecurities and childishness at Gideon's actions made me wish Gideon would just dump her and move on. It was exhausting to watch her pick at everything, deliberately trying to find fault in all that Gideon did. I understood her need to want Gideon to trust her with all his problems, but she never once realized that for some people, trust is the hardest thing to give. I wish she would have understood that better.

Gideon broke my heart! What happened to him when he was younger, makes me want to slap each and every adult that was present and who did nothing about it! This man exudes raw sensuality, and the sex.. oh but he knows how to pleasure a woman with toe curling orgasm, after orgasm! I do love that we get to see a different side to Gideon, though brief as it may be, I loved the moments where he was laughing and smiling, as opposed to the brooding hottie that he normally is! And that ending! :o No matter that I saw it coming.. I knew, and felt it in my soul.. but it still made me weep!

Once again I'm feeling Gideon withdrawls, December needs to hurry and get here, I need book three like I need air to live! I know these two still have so much to overcome, but I hope that they take all they've been through, and grow as a couple and as individuals.

Emotionally exhausting, sensually enthralling, and sexually riveting, Reflected in You shatters yours heart and keeps you coming back for more!

  1. YES to all of this! My only wish was that I hope Day exploited the Nathan twist more, it felt more of an accessory than an integral part of the story (does that make sense?). Although the ending latched on that part but I wish it was more reinforced. Gah! I can't say everything without revealing enough as it is already.

    Lovely review Neyra. Happy Weekend!

  4. While I haven't read the fifty shades series, from the few reviews that I've read, this sounds fairly similar. Weak, insecure female with psycho, control freak male. And of course, a lot of sex lol. While not for me, I'm glad to see that you enjoyed this one Neyra. Great review :)

oh nooo :O this is NOTHING compared to Fifty Shades >.< LOL Yes there are similarities, but there is no mistaking that the Crossfire series is much better developed than FSOG. The characters have more depth as opposed to being one dimensional and bland. There's an actual PLOT to this series. And it's unmistakable, the writing is beyond captivating. It actually makes sense! lol. Thanks Suzanne xD lol
