Sure, opposites attract, but in this sexy, smart, eBook original romance from Ruthie Knox, they positively combust! When a buttoned-up banker falls for a bad girl, “about last night” is just the beginning.
Cath Talarico knows a mistake when she makes it, and God knows she’s made her share. So many, in fact, that this Chicago girl knows London is her last, best shot at starting over. But bad habits are hard to break, and soon Cath finds herself back where she has vowed never to go . . . in the bed of a man who is all kinds of wrong: too rich, too classy, too uptight for a free-spirited troublemaker like her.
Nev Chamberlain feels trapped and miserable in his family’s banking empire. But beneath his pinstripes is an artist and bohemian struggling to break free and lose control. Mary Catherine—even her name turns him on—with her tattoos, her secrets, and her gamine, sex-starved body, unleashes all kinds of fantasies.
When blue blood mixes with bad blood, can a couple that is definitely wrong for each other ever be perfectly right? And with a little luck and a lot of love, can they make last night last a lifetime?
For Cath Talarico, staying on the straight and narrow isn’t simply about making sure she stays safe, she’s hanging on to her good girl persona like it’s her last resort at having a decent life. I guess you can say that for this Chicago girl, that’s exactly what it means. Cath has made mistakes she’s looking forward to leaving behind, so starting over in London, she vows she’ll never be the girl she once was. But they say old habits are hard to break, and Cath finds herself up to no good again, with a man who’s all wrong for her. But if it’s true that opposites attract, Cath and Nev sizzle!
I really enjoyed reading About Last Night, it was my first Ruthie Knox book and I wasn’t disappointed at all. The chemistry between Cath and “City” as she calls him is hot! He’s unrelenting in his exploration of her body, and she thought him “nice”. Well if you’re like me, and naughty=nice to you, then hell yeah he’s the nicest guy in England!! ;) I might just have to switch gears and travel to Europe instead of sticking to what I know in America! LOL
I am however disappointed in Cath. She’s a strong female who went through a lot in her life, and despite it all, she’s finally getting her life back together. And I understand her need to kick her bad habits, but pushing Nev away was not the answer. Sure they’re from opposite sides of not only the world, but from opposite sides of the social circles; but anyone within range could see that they belong together. They give each other what they need. He gives her a sense of security and stability she’s never known before, while she gives him the freedom he so desperately needs. The freedom to be able to express himself and be who he wants to be and not who his family dictates he should be.
I loved Nev! He was such a wonderful man; I seriously need to reconsider moving to London! xD I mean who wouldn’t love a man who’s willing to drag your drunk ass to his apartment, NOT have sex with you, and leave essentials you’ll most likely need when you come to, and then fuck you six ways from Sunday, after you wake up and it’s obvious that there’s sexual tension there? ;) LOL and I loved that we get his POV as well. So we get to see how his family is, and how he must act with them. I did agree that he should have stood up to his family sooner, but I don’t blame him for keeping quiet about Cath when his brother, the jerk, made it his mission to humiliate her. After all, she IS the one who kept secrets, as entitled as she was to them, but if she couldn’t open up to him, how is it that she expected Nev to defend her?
Overall this book is a sexy read; full of lust, naughty fun, a sexy goody-two-shoes English heartthrob, and a free spirited woman who’s not willing to let life keep bringing her down. And yes of course, lots of love for my romance lovers! ;)
